Hydraulic valve parts produced at KastMfg are manufactured in ADC12 aluminum alloy using cold-chamber high-pressure die casting. ADC12 is the preferred alloy for hydraulic valve bodies where pressure tightness, dimensional precision, and machinability are the primary requirements. Its near-eutectic silicon content (11%) produces a fine microstructure with low shrinkage porosity, enabling reliable sealing performance without post-cast impregnation in most applications.
Each valve body undergoes in-process SPC on critical dimensions, X-ray inspection for internal soundness on qualifying programs, and 100% pressure decay or leak testing where specified. CNC machining of port faces, bore diameters, and thread forms is performed in-house to drawing tolerances.
