# Handle Body -Communication Equipment
Handle bodies and structural enclosures for communication equipment require a combination of dimensional accuracy, cosmetic surface quality, and low weight. KastMfg produces these parts in A356 aluminum alloy using low-pressure casting -a process that delivers significantly lower gas porosity than standard HPDC, enabling T6 heat treatment and achieving tensile strengths of 280-310 MPa without surface blistering.
Post-casting CNC machining is performed in-house on all mating surfaces, mounting holes, and thread forms. Surface finishing -typically Type II anodizing for electronics applications -is applied after machining to ensure dimensional features are not affected by anodize thickness.
